20 Posters for Disney Classics
First, thanks for all the interest in our recent TV shows posters and all the nice reactions. In the future we plan to expand this project but today it’s a different set of posters.
Even though we’re not exactly a target group, we loved Tangled and it reminded us of all those older Disney animations we were brought up on. So today we present our tribute: simple posters for 20 classic Disney movies. Again, it was so much fun.

This is great! I never realized how almost every Disney movie could have such simple iconography. This would be highly successful out on the street even without the Disney logo.

I so love this. Especially The Jungle Book, because I love Kaa. The Alice in Wonderland one is so right on.
Loved it. I agree with you on minimalism being a game between viewer and creator. I always believe the viewer appreciates the “Ah!” moment when he discovers what is being said. I’ve tried something similar. You might like it: http://imkarthik.com/index.php?/work/grey-area/
Minimalism is about the essence of an idea–in this case, the essence of these movies (a la olly moss). The majority of these posters showcase neat symbols, but don’t really reflect the essence, or even really what the movie is actually about. This is how we got from the beautiful, functional, context and philosophy driven modernism of mies van der rohe to the appropriated, context-lacking, dehumanist international style of architecture. sorry 😦

I love minimalist works. However, I often wonder what if none of these are classics and people have no idea what the movie is about, will they get the message these posters are trying to get across?
I always think of minimalist posters as a game between people who already know something about the subject. So part of fun is deciphering the clues and figuring out why it’s been simplified like this. I don’t think it’s for people who know nothing whatsoever of the original.
Very clean! I like how the designs are simple yet portray a story still very cool.
